Backticks fail to render computer font innside `@li`

In the normal paragraph text, names quoted with backticks get rendered with source-code font. But this doesn't work inside @li or inside square brackets:

An object of type `io_result<std::size_t>` deconstructing to [`ec`, `n`].

gets rendered as:

[akrzemi1]

I have found a workaround for variable names in lists: use @c:

@li either the full content of @c buffers is processed,

This ends up rendering (as expected):
