wonder if the proxy logic part (all excepted jpa implementation) could be reused to get some kind of same experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, ...)

Which proxy logic are you referring to? This is currently mainly handled by the Solder ServiceHandler.

But I agree, making the jump to NoSQL is probably not so big for cdi-query. Haven't had too much practical exposure to it, so didn't give it too much thoughts yet.

Ah ok I see. Hmm, I think this should be possible, don't think that the method name parsing is hardly tied to JPA. Still it might not fit with every kind of NoSQL query dialect. Would need to investigate.

BTW, long term it might even be JPA dealing with that problem, see e.g. http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/NoSQL. Think this on the potential roadmap for Java EE 8.

well cassandra already has some entitymanager impl but well not sure criteria api will be very well implemented for NoSQL

True. The Criteria stuff is too closely tied to JPQL...

Anyway, it's definitely interesting to follow up on the NoSQL area. I guess for Spring Data it works also quite well.
