IdeaJ 2016.3 broke support for this plugin

As far as I can tell, git4idea was converted into the bundled Git plugin: https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-community/blob/master/plugins/git4idea/src/git4idea/GitVcs.java

I'm developing a plugin of my own and I'm trying to figure out how to get to the detailed information about commits. So far, without luck. Here's some documentation and relevant code in IntelliJ IDEA's own UI:

If anyone finds this issue in the future, I found out why git4idea wasn't being picked up as a plugin dependency.

The id of the plugin is case-sensitive and it is spelled Git4Idea:

...

If you are using configuration block intellij {} in your plugin's build script from the official template, i.e. it looks like this:

intellij {
	[...]
	plugins = properties("platformPlugins").map { it.split(',').map(String::trim).filter(String::isNotEmpty) }
}

then just add Git4Idea to the Gradle property platformPlugins:

platformPlugins = Git4Idea
