Hi,
I’ve been exploring the app and I wanted to share some feedback regarding accessibility with VoiceOver.
There are a lot of controls available, but it is currently very difficult to understand how to actually produce or play any sound using a screen reader. I was not able to find a clear way to trigger an utterance or hear the result of any adjustments, which makes it hard to evaluate what the synthesizer is doing.
In addition, many of the interface elements do not appear to be fully accessible. Some controls are not clearly labeled, and it is not always obvious what each element is doing or how it affects the sound.
I think this project has a lot of potential, especially as a formant synthesis tool, but improving accessibility would make a big difference. Even a simple, clearly labeled “play” or “test sound” control, along with better labeling of parameters, would make it much easier to use with VoiceOver.
It might also help to test the app directly using VoiceOver to see how the interface is currently being exposed.
Thanks for your work on this, I’d really like to be able to explore and evaluate it further.
