There is an obvious security issue related to havester since NIR provides links to external resources that are "unchecked". There is a possibility that a representation redirects a user unknowingly (also because the link might be hidden under a 303). Harvesting in the wild might turn out to be quite dangerous.
Trusting a third party node might not be enough because you essentially delegate control to that node (might be ok for USGS or other major organisations), but hazardous otherwise
