tidydata codebook

This database summarizes the measurements on the mean and standard deviation from UCI HAR Dataset, with the average of each variable for each activity and each subject.

Id variables

  • 1 Subject: integer, representing each subject (1-30)
  • 2 Activity: character, label for each activity (LAYING, SITTING, STANDING, WALKING, WALKING_DOWNSTAIRS, WALKING_UPSTAIRS)

The naming convention for the rest of variables is:

    t               time

    f               frequency calculated using Fast Fourier Transform

    Acc             accelerometer signal

    Gyro            gyroscope sygnal

    Body            body acceleration

    Gravity         gravity acceleration

    Jerk            Jerk signals derived from linear acceleration and angular velocity

    Mag             magnitude calculated using Euclidean norm

    mean()          average

    std()           standar deviation

    X,Y,Z           cartesian component
