Site pages render super slow at random moments

Hello, I observe strange behaviour of one website with K2ForJ4 content.
Debug console says a page loaded for 143.66 s. All queries are OK, but one:
"afterRenderComponent com_k2 (1.17MB) (143.49s)"
I checked everything and can not figure out what might be the problem.
J version is 4.4.8, the content uses FaLang for content translations. Bilingual bg-BG/en-EN.
This started only last month and affects only the last 6 K2 Items published. Checked their contents many times no problems. The site is live and I can provide URLs in DM.

They have the k2 script and css. Nothing else. It is a very strange behaviour. The landing page loads very fast, always, and then different linked items displayed via k2_content modules or l2 category lists, every time different ones start loading very very slow, up to several minutes. I talked to the hosting, they say everything server-wise is OK. I can not find anything and it’s already a month. Thank you! Do a local server on your pc and see if you have the same issue?

It might be PHP ram or mysql IOPS (disk throughput)

If it all works locally then you can look at the server.

Can you cache these page? Does this speed things up?

Is it the PHP rendering that is the issue or is it client side. I think you mentioned it is on joomla taking the time.

Does this happen on another version of PHP?

Have you got any firewall extensions installed in joomla, in the past I found when they did slow lookups this slowed my site down.
