Can't Launch Spotify

it will just not launch. no errors no nothing. it just wont launch

im on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed

any help appriciated -_-

try removing ~/.var/app/com.spotify.Client/cache/spotify folder

$ flatpak run -v com.spotify.Client

I reported something similar with issue #342 on Fedora 43.

There's nothing suspicious in the log. What about removing entire ~/.var/app/com.spotify.Client/cache

You may also try temporarily renaming ~/.var/app/com.spotify.Client to ~/.var/app/com.spotify.Client-old to see if fresh profile make difference

I distro-hopped to Fedora 43 and I don't have this issue anymore.

May have been a problem with openSUSE or smth like that

I faced this issues on Fedora Kinoite and openSUSE Aeon desktop, so it probably isn't related to distro.
I solve this issue by completely delete spotify data using Warehouse (delete ~/.var/app/com.spotify.Client), then Spotify can launch normally again.

Can we find a fix for this? I hate having to delete my cache folder every couple of months because Spotify won't launch.

experiencing this issue on fedora 42, no error message, and reinstalling the flatpak didnt do anything, and neither did deleting ~/.var/app/com.spotify.Client

edit: enabling wayland solved this for me

wayland is enabled by default now so you must disabled it manually before.
