I think, and really hope, I've fixed the problems completely this time and submitted packages to the Ubuntu buildd servers over two hours ago, but they are still pending so I can't actually test them to ensure they work properly. Yep, sorry about that. I add a new build of glib2.0 from another PPA without properly testing it. All manner of evil broke loose. I've removed the broken glib2.0 package from my PPA and replaced it with the original working one. To revet the change do the following:

sudo aptitude install libglib2.0-0=2.24.1-0ubuntu1
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

However, the GConf errors are not fixed right now which mean Shotwell preferences are not persisted. I am working on back porting d-conf and gconf2 to try and address this issue.

I added ~$ sudo apt-get install shotwell to complete it! ;)

Gconf errors are not my worries at the moment, I fixed the beloved photo management software on my parents computer... (they would kill me if I would say: "Oh mum, by the way forget about Shotwell and your photocamera-video's, it is back to F-spot again")

Ofcourse I wish you lots of succes addressing the gconf issues... keep up the great work!

ps. When Shotwell starts up it stalls at 48% for about 20 seconds and then it starts. Is this also due to the gconf thing? Or is it just the photo database loading which contains about 12.000 photo's.
