And btw i loveeeeeeeeeeee Mate. I dont miss Gnome 2 anymore.

First check if you have video acceleration with the next command:
glxinfo | grep direct

It should say:
direct rendering: Yes

If no, check your video card drivers, because that square looks like an "Artifact" for that reason I think that has to do with it.
