Description of Documentation Need

There are discrepancies in the documentation and configuration regarding how audit logs are routed (Pub/Sub vs. Storage Buckets).

Target Audience

Cloud Architects, Security Auditors, and Deployment Engineers.

Proposed Location

The primary deployment guide and the terraform.tfvars.sample files.

Content Outline / Draft

1. Audit the current logging implementation to determine the correct routing path.
2. Update the deployment documentation to accurately reflect whether logs go to Pub/Sub or Buckets.
3. Ensure the default terraform.tfvars.sample values match the documented configuration.

Compliance Context (if applicable)

Aligning the System Security Plan (SSP) and Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM) with the actual IaC implementation is required for AU (Audit and Accountability) controls and ATO acceleration.

@woodham1 Which routing path is the intended default for Stellar Engine environments?

1. logging (Cloud Logging buckets): This is the current default in variables.tf and what is shown in ddg.md.
2. pubsub: This is what is currently in terraform.tfvars.sample.
3. storage (Storage Buckets): This was mentioned in the issue description as a possibility.
