Teach 'convenience' tools and behaviours in HPC Carpentry workshops? #147

@tobyhodges

Description

@tobyhodges

From a discussion at the HPC Carpentry session at deRSE25. It would be good to have a conversation about whether and how to teach some of the "things people can do to make working with a remote (HPC) system less painful." A couple of examples below, and maybe @mahermanns can recall some more?

  • mounting cluster home dir onto local system
  • editing remote files (even submitting jobs?) from local IDE
