Solve for x<br><br>
<p>Starting equation:</p>
<p>\[\textcolor{blue}{y} = \textcolor{green}{m}\textcolor{purple}{x} + \textcolor{red}{b}\]</p>
<p>Subtract \( b \) from both sides (explicitly showing division by 1):</p>
<p>\[ y - \frac{b}{1} = mx + b - \frac{b}{1} \]</p>
<p>Simplify:</p>
<p>\[y - b = mx\]</p>
<p>\[\frac{1}{m} y - b = mx \frac{1}{m}\]</p>
<p>\[\frac{y - b}{m} = x\]</p>
The value of b is when x = 0.
