Muted then deleted Satellite from home assistant - how to add back in unmuted

Just a scenario i found myself in whilst playing with the Satellite ( on a pi zero2w with 2 mic hat v1 , as the hardware):
I muted the satellite in Home Assistant (HA) whilst working on some duplicate MQTT entries for the Satellite in HA.
I couldn't get rid of the duplicates (that's another issue).
I decided to delete the satellite both its Home Assistant Satellite entry as well as and from MQTT (see if i could clear up the duplicate fields).
I then decided to add it back in and I couldn't say 'hey Jarvis' (during the add phase in HA) as it reported 'is your satellite muted'. Then I remembered I had muted it DOH!, (I didnt know what to run to unmute in ssh cli to the Sat).
I had done a image backup of the satellite before muting . I just restored that.. to get started again (unmuted).
After re imaging the microsd card and booting up the duplicate MQTT entries are gone in HA, great!...

For the above muted issue scenario - I dont know whether during adding the sat into HA to force unmute rather than say 'is your satellite muted'.

Hey @so8488943-star, that is an interesting one. The LVA does not persist mute state between reboots. So a reboot should reset that on the client.

When you delete the mqtt device and readd it, it does restore previous setting but mute should be overwritten when the lva reboots.

You can try the following.

1. Shutdown the lva service
2. Delete the esphome and mqtt devices
3. Restart the lva and re-register it in HA.

If mute still persists let me know.

It works exactly as you say. Coool!

I followed my original steps to create the 'scenario' i had earlier:

1. I muted
2. I removed the VA from HA
3. I removed mqtt entry for VA (originally for duplicates, this time just as a test).
4. I rebooted HA
5. I added VA to HA - I chose skip whilst adding when complained it was muted.

Then I followed what you said:
6) I ssh'd into the VA and ran systemctl --user restart linux-voice-assistant.service
7) Controls in HA show unmuted and responds perfectly.
