Installation fails: requirements?

Mmm, I had a go at this extension (MW 1.23) but

• it doesn't show up on Special:Version;
• there is a Special:Map but this simply gives a zoomable map without any map-making tools;
• when I attempt to create the page "Map:Example" (just like any regular page), there is an error message: "Fatal error: Class 'GeoJSONException' not found in .../extensions/WikiMaps/includes/GeoJSONContent.php on line 68".

I would guess that there are certain requirements that my installation does not meet. For instance, is support for GeoJSON built in?

BTW: Like Nemobis in #20, I'm also interested in the possibilities of somehow joining this with Maps / Semantic Maps.

Do you have Visual Editor installed?

Yes, even it is not directly used you need to have it (but only MediaWiki PHP extension, not Node.js part)
I think that this is because of some dependencies, but @jdlrobson probably can explain this better.

Hey there shouldn't be a dependency on VisualEditor at all. I'm not sure what's going on here. Sounds like you've found a bug. If you'd be willing to investigate it I'd be super super happy.

@Contrafibularity I suspect you made need to install JsonContentHandler.
If this is the case can you submit a patch to update the README / check for the existence of this existence?

I'm not working with the latest MW core, so I wouldn't really know, but my question certainly did get answered. Maybe you could label this as a question and then close the thread (not sure how this works around here)?
