Well, this could be either short-lived or prescient, we'll see. Apparently there is no x1p42100 based version of the Surface Pro 11, only the newer sp12. Not dropping the branch yet. |

Ok, Used ventoy because i was tired of wrighting images all the time, turns out it goes past the point i was stuck on on every boot attempt, I was able to boot resolute and i'm now in the installation ui! I will try it out and keep you updated. Idk why it wouldn't work with normal grub? |

WIPSummary of the installation and setup process:this guide is not complete as it is missing some features (audio, touchscreen, webcam...) Requirements:
Preparing Windows:It is required during this installation process to get files from windows (firmware, network card information). If your windows partition is encrypted with bitlocker, you can either disable it or use an external peripheral to transfer said files to your linux install. From Windows, open your partition manager and reduce the size of the windows partition in order to create an empty volume (ideally larger than 15Go). This is where we will install ubuntu. For bluetooth to work on your installation, you will need the physical addresses of your network card. You can output them from windows as described in this guide. You can either write them down or copy them to a file on a shared partition or external media. If your device is encrypted (bitlocker), you should copy firmware files to an external media.
Copy these files to a folder on an external media. Live image:
If you encounter issues booting from the installation media, you can try flashing Ventoy to your media and copy the iso to the images partition that is created on it. You can then try booting the live image from it. Installing Ubuntu:To install Ubuntu from the live image, you first need to follow the usual interactive installation app that is launched automatically when starting the live image. In there, you can set-up dual boot, partitioning, etc... When the interactive installation is complete, DO NOT REBOOT, you still have to manualy edit grub boot config to read the proper device tree for the surface pro 11. to finish (and edit if a new image including patches is released) |
