3.67 display log in prompt

Upgraded Venus from 3.52 to 3.67v on my RaPi 4b and just getting victron logo splash screen and terminal with a prompt to log in. The venus system is working great talking to VRM, just having this display issue. Previous version was working with custom display and was able to make it work going through display helper. With a keyboard I am able to log in as root and tried to disable headless, but it didn’t seem to take.

I will add this SD card was flashed and set up on an another ra pi, that one had an internal power supply issue so this is a new RaPi, the flashed SD card seemed to be plug and play, just re did WiFi password. Do you think I’d need to use SSH and redo the full display set up helper?

Forgot that I needed to mod “rw” so for those also faced with this issue I did the following once I was logged in as root

bash /opt/victronenergy/swupdate-scripts/remount-rw.sh

Then

mv /etc/venus/headless /etc/venus/headless.off

if you use remount-rw, the root partition will not be resized so you may have issues down the road. use resize2fs.sh instead, which also remounts root read/write.

Nothing wrong with doing what you did but SetupHelper will do this for you if you use it. RpiDisplaySetup also has other options like rotating the screen, recalibrating touch. These are accessed from the command line. Then once set up, will reinstall with each firmware update.

Thanks for the tip, what kind of issues would I have if I leave it as is? This unit has constant WiFi so I don’t use too much onboard storage.

Also I only had a keyboard at our camp, not a laptop so i wasn’t sure if I had to use the full display helper. I previously used display helper originally to set up the custom 10” display.

VRM backup storage is in the /data partition so that's not an issue.

Root filling up has been a problem for some but not sure what caused it. I'm guessing mostly, third party mods and node red.

It is safe to run the resize2fs without loss if you want to.

The headless rename you did will not survive a firmware update so you'll get the command prompt after updating until you remove or rename /etc/venus/headless again. However, v3.70 and newer do not include the headless flag file so I think the local GUI is active without any mods.

Only other mods are Debus serial and gui mods, no node red.

What’s the code/command for resize is it just log in as root and

resize2fs.sh
