Uninstalling causes behavior to persist

After either disabling or uninstalling the plugin, the plugin continues to operate. It appears the change that it makes when installing it might be permanent. Any idea how to revert it?

I'm guessing you've already tried this but... have you tried completely closing VS Code after the uninstall and then reopening it?
