Im not sure is this a RA issue or my monitor itself. It happens with all arcade cores (I tested on this core, fbneo, mame2010 and mame2003-plus) its only ghosts and goblins doing this all opther games are fine. Mame current has no issues with freesync on either.
The game starts getting dark and light goes flashy only when the charter walks the only way to fix this is enable hdr with scanlines on. Can someone with vsync please test gng and see if its just my local setup issue. Using current commits from RA.
Ive tried with vsync on and of also tried with full screen window on and off. The reason ive posted here is its only likely this core that would have people using freesync. I would rather no post this too the RA issues unless other people can confirm it on there end or not.
edit
Im using linux as well forgot to mention that
just a small update tried other games with the same frequency and they are fine however freesync wasnt working well in some cases with retroarch current master. I went back to v1.22.2 and only gng has this flashing issue. I think the current master is in need of some tlc even threaded video crashes when enabling it on linux.
