KIP-848 support

  • Already released as EA in 3.8.0
• Decaton may need to take some actions to support it

By Consumer Rebalance Protocol, those are changes

• support for subscribe methods with regex, subscribe(SubscriptionPattern)
  • It should be careful to include in decaton because there are additionally generated topics from the original topic such as retry
  • In this case, there can be weird behavior and hard to define how to work for retry topics
• Those are not supported from consumer anymore, but supported from broker side -> It seems there is no relevance with decaton
  • heartbeat.interval.ms
  • session.timeout.ms
  • partition.assignment.strategy
  • enforceRebalance(String) and enforceRebalance()

I mainly focused on the ConsumerRebalanceListener, especially if it is guaranteed that onPartitionsAssigned is revoked after onPartitionsRevoked for the SubscriptionState, because in KIP-848 the main change is removing synchronization barrier
It seems that there is not much relevance with KIP-848, because KIP-848 is about the protocol between server and client, but ConsumerRebalanceListener is about client side.
