I've downgraded GIMP to 2.8 and it seems to have "fixed" the issue. For now it is enough of a solution to work on, but if you can help me go back to 2.10 it would be nice!

I've raised a similar issue, and no action, not even a comment.
I understand it's a volunteer-supported plug-in, but it seems is not currently supported at all.
