I personally like Zola more https://www.getzola.org/
I can also just move the code there pretty quickly, but that will add a branch and pages publishing step in CI to the project. The whole metalink support project is in low maintenance mode, so adding complexity is not currently a thing I'm actively looking for.

I utilize Nikola, because I intend to add XMPP PubSub support to it, so I am biased towards Nikola. Nevertheless, Zola is fine; and I am willing to help you with any task concerning the maintenance of the Metalink site.

I decided to start work with Zola because I still love that generator for it's speed and can see an easy transition into it (most files are just static atm, after base setup the work will be extracting a common template and moving text into markdown for easier maintenance)

After basic CI and Zola I should be able to start setting up pull request validation and open up the repository for editing.

Yes, I will review your changes and try to help out. I think the basic idea is: get more markdown in there without impacting the look and feel to much. This will indclude moving content from static/something.html into two files: content/something.md and a template/page.html file that holds the layout. So zola serve and see if you van get the same page using template/.. and content/.. and removing static/.. As soon as I find time I will try to give a concrete example.

I also intend to compile a collection of resources to projects that have tickets for Metalinks.

We might also want to creat a journal which informs of new developments and new projects to adopt Metalink, as it could be useful as a one-spot reference for developers who want to know more about Metalink.
