How to know when I am responsible for freeing memory?

I have this snippet

                        psiItemArray.GetItemAt(i, out var shellItem);

                        PWSTR fullPath;

                        unsafe
                        {
                            shellItem.GetDisplayName(SIGDN.SIGDN_FILESYSPATH, &fullPath);
                            // does this leak memory?
                        }

I'm not sure if I'm meant to be freeing fullpath, or how - is there a way to know, or you just have to know?

At this time the win32 metadata does not have an annotation for how to release the memory, so you have to look to the documentation to figure it out.
