[Python Environments] Python Interpreter bottom right GUI Selector doesn't work.

After clicking on the bottom right GUI environment selector, the menu opens with all available interpreters but clicking on any of them does nothing. Also the label on the selector states that a certain interpreter is selected when in fact it is not.

I know it is a problem with this selector in specific and not the whole extension functionality because I solved my problem by manually hitting Ctrl+Shift+P and selecting "Python: Select Interpreter", which in theory should work the same way, only that this last one is actually working as intended. The bug must be recent as I have used the selector in the past without any problem (and with the same python installations).
