Model picker does nothing when opened from the ellipsis menu

Steps to Reproduce:

1. minimize the Copilot Chat pane so that the model picker dropdown overflows to the ellipsis menu.
2. click the ellipsis menu, then "open model picker".
3. pick a different model.
4. ask the model which model it is. its answer and the model name next to the 👍/👎 buttons indicate that the model was not changed.

Workaround:

1. resize the Copilot Chat pane so that the model picker dropdown does now overflow.

This is happening to me as well. I'm selecting Claude Opus 4.6 and it changes to Claude Sonnet 4.6. I'm using the most recent version of the VSC extension: 0.42.3
How do I know they are charging me the tokens for the correct model? Also, and more important, how do I fix this?

that doesn't sound like the same bug. in my case, the model used after I click is the model which was already selected before I clicked. in your case, the model switched to a model which is neither the one you selected nor the one you started with?

Also, and more important, how do I fix this?

the workaround I have listed above and demonstrated in the video does not work for you? if so, that is another reason to think you are experiencing a different bug.
