Backspacing an empty unordered list item then typing stores hidden text

1. Click "UL"
2. Type "awef"
3. Move the cursor back to the start of the line.
4. Press enter
5. Move the cursor up to the empty list item
6. Press backspace
7. Press backspace
8. Type "aweaf"
9. Backspace back to the start of the line
10. Press backspace
