Contributing

Thanks for your interest in Github Engine.

This project is in an early foundation phase. Contributions are currently most valuable in the areas below.

Current Contribution Priorities

  • Clarifying product scope and non-goals
  • Improving architectural clarity and module boundaries
  • Refining roadmap sequencing and success criteria
  • Strengthening documentation quality and consistency
  • Proposing practical MCP integration paths

How to Contribute

  1. Open an issue using the relevant template (feature request, idea/proposal, or documentation improvement).
  2. For larger changes, align approach in the issue before opening a pull request.
  3. Keep pull requests focused and scoped to one change area.
  4. Include rationale and expected impact in the pull request description.

Contribution Standards

  • Keep language precise and implementation claims realistic.
  • Avoid introducing placeholder logic presented as production-ready.
  • Preserve consistency with product direction in VISION.md, ROADMAP.md, and ARCHITECTURE.md.
  • Prefer clarity over volume in documentation updates.

Code of Collaboration

  • Be respectful, direct, and constructive.
  • Challenge ideas, not people.
  • Favor evidence and clear reasoning over assumptions.

Development Note

The implementation engine is not built yet. Contributions in this phase should primarily strengthen product definition, architecture, and planning quality.
