The user can press Ctrl-C from the REPL to stop a long running simulation campaing, but when the AI starts the campaign it doesn't work

Even if the simulations are killed from the command line, the runner will think they just stopped with an error. There may still be a lot of other tasks to run, which will be automatically started. This is very annoying and not very user friendly.
