Since we all know that professors love to use weird obsolete or state of the art packages we should introduce alternative ways of adding them. In the first place we should use yay for arch and maybe snap or flatpak for ubuntu.
My recommended way of approaching that (for Arch derivatives) is adding a yay search on is_in_pacman_repo() that should later be renamed is_in_arch_repo().
Other ways of solving this issue are open for discussion because we might need to add even more bootleg solutions for weird packages like xilinx which is heavily used in University of Western Macedonia dept. Informatics.
This issue should remain open and act as a forum about that ongoing and gargantuan problem.
