What's the publishing process for custom apps?

Both sections related to Custom Apps are empty on https://wiki.openzim.org/wiki/Content_team

In kiwix/kiwix-apple-branded#116 @kelson42 requests a custom app update for Wikimed.

• The ZIM is recent (2025-08)
• The recipe shows only failures
• The ZIM is not present on library.kiwix.org (normal) but is present on dev.library.kiwix.org

I think some documentation is required and I can't wait for ZF tasks to have notes so there would be some info about why we release a file from a scrape that failed.

Documentation is in README.md of respective Android and Apple custom apps code repositories.

WikiMed EN custom apps have not been released for a very long time which lead to problems (related to the reader and supported platforms).

The recipe of WikiMedi has failed only because one of the two ZIM files have not been created, which is irrelevant here.

More relevant is that the maxi ZIM produces suffers of weaknesses, but there is a tradeoff and have prefered to move ahead instead of waiting more.

Hopefully we can release a "perfect" version in the next monthes.
