User management tool

I know how to manage users using SQL queries, but a visual user management can be useful for some db admins.

• User creation
• User modification
• Deletion
• Manage user privileges

I'm thinking in contribute in this feature.

IMHO, DB management is not the goal of this tool. This tools should be a quick tool for devs, no db Admins.
Regarding user management, probably every DB has its own way of doing things that will require a lot of effort (because of the differences) and a relative lower benefit for the target user base.

Hard disagree. Setting up users is a basic feature.

I import a DB and want to create a user with more limited access than root to test a feature, this should be simple to do in any GUI client.
This isn't some DevOps feature as you imply. I suspect you've been influenced by your organisations work structure and delegation.

More to the point, there are very few SQL editors that DON'T have this feature. So if the idea is to be competitive in this space, it's needed.

Given the authors response in regards to maintaining this project I've moved on to DBeaver, which does have this feature.

If it’s really that simple, you’re more than welcome to contribute a PR and help move it forward 🙂

From a user perspective it may look like “just one SQL line”, but user management is not part of the SQL standard. Each database engine implements it differently, which makes a generic solution far less trivial than it seems.

If DBeaver works better for your needs, that’s perfectly fine. Different tools fit different workflows. Personally, I value Antares for its simplicity and focused approach. It follows a philosophy similar to TablePlus — a very popular database client — prioritizing a clean UI and streamlined experience over trying to cover every advanced administrative feature.

Considering it’s an open-source project and still evolving, I’d say it’s doing a solid job within its scope. Constructive contributions will always take it further than comparisons.

Obviously you are trying to cover your needs and Antares is not the tools, having a fast and light SQL client is the fit for other people that uses products like TablePlus.
Don't forget: Antares is Open and Free, it is not competitive, just a great effort of a small community. There are many people that feels with the right to demand some features, but it's also required an effort to have the authority to demand it.
This one is an "almost solo" developer effort, we are very lucky having someone doing that on his own.

You've entered a thread for a feature request and basically pooped all over it... if you're not interested in the feature feel free to ignore this thread.

I've asked if this project is maintained in another thread and been told essentially no, he may come back to it but no interest right now. With that context, I started looking elsewhere and hence mentioned DBeaver. I'm not saying this should be DBeaver exactly, I find DBeaver too busy but functional.

Maybe think before you comment, I was very surprised to read the notification, as your approach I think many would find rude.
