Idea for an alternative name : Goat (Greatest of all transpilers).

It's a little bold, but I like it :)

Jokes aside, picking a name for the language was pretty tough. From the start, I wanted to call it So, but you can't really use such a short name unless you have Google's marketing budget.

After trying a lot of options, I finally chose Solod, which also lets me keep So as a short name.
