.pkg or .dmg

Hi, not a developer here just an Italian streamer that is trying to create english captions. Can you create a .pkg or .dmg file to download and install the program on macOs? Also, don't know if the program has a graphic interface, cause I'm really not good at using terminal. This would be amazing

I'm using macOs 12.7.6 (Intel)

edit: a function to continuously write the translated subs in a .txt file would also be really useful

I'd recommend you to star repo or follow me for an update (i'll try to create it asap though but still, i'm not much familiar with mac installers, so maybe it could take some time)

I have not been in great health for couple of weeks, I have did research, how can I do it, turns out i'll need a macbook (that i don't have)... so i found an alternative to simulate macOS on a virtual machine, that i'll try in this week, and in both cases, successful or not i'll let you know.

Thank you! In the meantime I removed all the different version of Python that I installed in the years (what a pain, especially the simlinks), now only the stock one on MacOs is left. So if I have to try the installation without the .pkg or the .dmg, I can install the last clean version from the site right before it. If graphic interface it's still there and I can write the translated caps in real time on a .txt file, I'm good. Let me know how things will go, hope you'll feel better in the next days

I would strongly recommend you to download PyCharm from Jetbrains (their community version is free and easy to use)

After installation, there's step by step tutorial available on my repo, if you find that complex, the easiest way is just download repo as zip, unpack it,
right click folder and open it as pycharm project....
then open the ***v2.01.py file and run it, it'll start application without any problem

if you get any problems you can dm me, i'll let you know how to fix....
there can be one problem of missing libraries, that you can fix by installing missing libraries in terminal (guide is in github repo)

Hi. I could try to open your project this way but without real time transcription on a txt file I can't use it on OBS anyways, because OBS read text from a file and display that text in captions. If you can implement that at least, I can try to open your project and use it as it is.

Also, if you can send here sone screenshot of the program and the installation process, it would be of help.

Last, I have a Mac Pro intel so old processor but high quantity of ram (192gb), do you think the models could run smoothly?

edit: oh and could be good to be able to capture the audio input, cause the mic is always input not output. I can resolve this with a bit of internal audio routing tho, not a big deal just an observation

It'll run pretty well hopefully (I'll make a video and share URL here, as well I'll try to implement storage as well)

Ok so I learned how the "read from file" option works in obs, and it reads from the .txt file in real time everytime the .txt file is saved.

Which I think it means that to retrive the translated caption in real time from the file, your program should save on the .txt everytime a sentence is fully captioned and translated.
