Code of Conduct

Pastera is an open-source project for people building and using macOS clipboard tools. We want the project space to stay useful, respectful, and focused.

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and direct when discussing bugs, design choices, and tradeoffs.
  • Assume contributors are acting in good faith unless behavior shows otherwise.
  • Keep feedback specific to the code, documentation, issue, or release process.
  • Make room for maintainers and users with different macOS versions, languages, accessibility needs, and technical backgrounds.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest when they affect a contribution or decision.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, threats, personal attacks, or discriminatory language.
  • Publishing private information without explicit permission.
  • Repeatedly derailing issues or pull requests after maintainers set scope.
  • Pressuring maintainers to bypass macOS security, privacy, signing, or permission requirements.
  • Submitting malicious code, credential leaks, telemetry surprises, or changes that hide user-visible clipboard behavior.

Reporting

If you see a conduct issue, open a GitHub issue if it can be handled publicly. For sensitive reports, contact a maintainer privately through GitHub before posting details.

Maintainers may remove comments, close issues, block users, or decline contributions that violate this code of conduct. Enforcement decisions should be proportional, documented when appropriate, and focused on keeping the project safe and usable.
