TO-DO list for whole libRASCH project
====================================
$Id$
('+' means that topic is done, '-' means topic needs to be done)
Need to be finished for version 1.0
-----------------------------------
- error handling (mostly done, think if additional things are necessary)
- regression tests (see General below)
- support most of the public avail. formats (to be sure that the
API is sufficient)
- the major parts of RASCHlab done (to be sure libRASCH works)
- complete documentation and source-comments
- first implementations of picture/movie formats to check if the
interface makes sense or needs to be rewritten (it is OK if some
parts needs to be extended; it is NOT OK, if some crucial parts
needs to be changed)
- interfaces for as much languages/systems as possible (systems mean
Matlab, Octave, IDL, Scilab, ...)
- as much experience as possible (different operating-systems,
different languages, different systems, different signals, ...)
- write documentation for interfaces (and therefore for lib)
- comment source code, write design documents, design RASCHlab
- implement own format
(- write export program)
(- write graphical conversion program (main purpose: convert ASCII
files in own format))
General
-------
- document XML-eval-file-format
+ comment source
- write documentation (started)
- use gnu auto-tools (not decided yet)
- implement error-handling (mostly done, need thinking if complete)
- when adding an event find a way how to be sure that all properties
are get/calculated (e.g. for ART-measures: added a beat in ecg-view
how to be sure that blood-pressure-properties are also saved when
cont_rr_view-plugin is not used)
- Process-plugins should be telling which event-properties they are
generating, which event-properties they are needing and which
signals they are processing. With this, the processing of a
measurement is simple and can be done automagically. (Do not forget
to implement a check for circular dependencies.)
+ when user edit event, mark this event so that processing of the
events leave the event in the state it is
- add regression tests for core and all plugins (test runs should
produce "nice" HTML pages with success/fail reports); tests should
cover all available interfaces also (for each interface a complete
set of tests)
- some recordings calculate the channel-data available via the API from
other channels (e.g. 12 lead ECGs normally store only 8 channels);
think if it is neccessary to access the original channel-data and
-information via the API; and when yes, how much data is needed
libRASCH
--------
- add Scilab support for Windows version
- fix Scilab build for Linux version
- implement support for config-file
- i18n support (started)
* support for date, time and numbers
* check string/character processing routines
* decide how to handle data (strings, dates and times) stored in
files (if no special definition, assume locale settings)
- adapt OO interfaces for Perl and Python according the C++ interface
build-system
------------
+ check if big or little endian -> set c-flag (is done during runtime)
- add scripts to distribution (mostly done)
- think about binary-distributions for Linux (RPM and deb)
- building libRASCH on Windows using nmake is not working correctly
- octave comes with octave-config which tells about installation
details -> check if it is available in older distributions also and
if it is then use this instead the code currently used in the
configure script
distribution script
-------------------
- write a script which do all the tasks distributing a new release:
* build libRASCH distribution archive
* generate a ChangeLog and To-do page in HTML
* generate a main ChangeLog (changes that will appear in the news
section and in freshmeat.net)
* generate SQL commands for plugin-infos for web-site
* generate SQL commands for news-section of new release
* copy all files to the appropriate place of the local web-site
* execute SQL-command-scripts on local mysql database
* start sync to transfer local web-site/db to web server
* use freshmeat.net automatic 'new version' capability
Plugins
-------
+ template-view plugin has problems when changing speed/amplitude
- check process-modules for better programming (more structure)
+ ecg-view plugin shows arrhythmic events (think if a more general
implementation in the ts-view plugin can be done)
- implement general documentation/help system for plugins (started)
- write basic-statistics plugin
RASCHlab
--------
- make concept of program
- in Windows version plot-window is not closed
+ make preliminary version available for download (is added since 0.6.0)
File-Formats
------------
+ support EDF+ discontinuous recordings
+ support for arrhythmic events in ecg's
- CFS format (finished for equalSpaced data)
- DasyLab (implementation of Universal Format 1 finished)
- ADInstruments format (Windows only) (seems to work, needs testing)
- Mortara (Windows only)
