[Bug] Menu bar item only opens on the Space containing the AirSync window

Describe the bug
On macOS, the AirSync menu bar item is visible in every Space/Desktop, but clicking it only opens the popover when the currently active Space is the one containing the AirSync app window.

If the AirSync window is open in Space 10, the menu bar item does nothing when clicked from Spaces 1–9. If I move the AirSync window to Space 2, the menu bar item only works from Space 2.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. On macOS, enable and use multiple Spaces/Desktop desktops.
2. Open AirSync and leave its main window on one specific Space (for example, Space 10).
3. Switch to a different Space (for example, Space 1).
4. Click the AirSync menu bar item.
5. Notice that no menu/popover appears.
6. Switch back to the Space where the AirSync window is open.
7. Click the AirSync menu bar item again.
8. Notice that it works normally there.
9. Move the AirSync window to another Space (for example, Space 2) and repeat.
10. The menu bar item now only works from that new Space.

Expected behavior
The AirSync menu bar item should respond from any Space, regardless of which Space contains the main app window.

Not easy to capture in a screenshot because the issue depends on macOS Spaces behavior, but I can provide a screen recording if needed.

Environment:

Hi! Can you give it a try on the latest pre-release versions of the AirSync Mac app in GitHub releases? There was a contribution to fix it but I did not know if it fixed this issue.

Just tried v3.0.1-BETA but the issue persists. What seems to happen now is, if I double click the menu bar icon it focus the Space where AirSync is.

Any other specific things you do like using a WM or such? Because I never been able to replicate this and never gotten any similar reports either.

I had yabai, wasn't really using it so I took the opportunity to remove it but it didn't do anything.

Still I was able to find the issue: what was actually causing it was the fact that I had AirSync assigned to Desktop 10. I changed the assignment to None and now it works as expected - although, if AirSync's window is open but on a different Desktop, clicking on the menu bar icon will focus the Desktop where AirSync is, a small annoyance that can easily be mitigated by just closing AirSync's window.

Would it be possible to keep the window assignment to a specific Space/Desktop while having the menu bar popover work on any Desktop?

Ohhh I see, now that we know what was the reason, i will take a look on how to handle that. Thanks for pointing out tho!
