Slow download speed with high CPU usage while installing JRE.

Opening the launcher, selected version 1.8.9, and tried to launch the game. The launcher started to download the JRE. This download is very slow (so far it's been around 2 hours), and has high CPU usage (around 50%). Actual network usage is low. It seems to be downloading about 1 file per minute.

Well the download is actually about 450 mb if you are doing it for the first time. So it takes a while. But so far no one has ever encountered this issue before. I will try checking the resource consumption today.

Edit: The cpu usage is indeed high during download time and the reason being that the launcher opens a second thread for the downloader part which then downloads the files. And the download is slow because of the fact that there are about 3000+ assets as of Minecraft 1.19.2 and all of them have to downloaded sequentially, so that the files won't be corrupted. Using a bit of high resources temporarily so that files are downloaded correctly seems like a good tradeoff at the moment, but I am thinking of rewriting the download algorithm to make it faster and less resource consuming.
