Cannot send USB control message. Error code 8

Hello,

I hooked up an Avermedia AverTV Volar HD USB TV stick to my NVIDIA Shield TV Pro, and I installed the v.1.43 of the DVB drivers. The TV stick seems to be detected, but when starting a frequency scan, I get this error message, like other users have faced:

Cannot send USB control message. Error code 8

Is there anything I could do to make it work and start the frequency scan?
