SourceBans++
SourceBans++ is the open-source web panel and SourceMod plugin suite that thousands of Source-engine gaming communities — Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Garry's Mod, and others — use to manage bans, mutes, gags, server admins, and a shared audit log across their server networks. It's the continuation of the original SourceBans project, modernized to a PHP 8.5 floor, a Smarty 5 + vanilla-JS panel, a fully responsive UI, and current SourceMod compatibility.
If you've joined a community Source-engine server in the last decade and wondered how that community shares bans across every server in their network, there's a good chance SourceBans++ is what's behind it.
What sponsorship funds
SourceBans++ is built and maintained on volunteer time. There is no commercial entity behind it - no paid contributors, no support contracts, no SaaS upsell, no enterprise tier locked behind a paywall.
Sponsorship goes directly toward maintainer hours: the time it takes to land features the community has been asking for, keep up with PHP / MariaDB / SourceMod / game-update breaking changes, review community pull requests, triage issues on GitHub and Discord, and modernize legacy surfaces (the v2.x panel rewrite is the most visible recent example of what dedicated maintainer hours can ship).
The sustainability problem here is the one most volunteer-maintained OSS faces: the work the community values most is the work that's hardest to fit around a day job. Recurring sponsorship is the only shape that lets the maintainer carve out reliable weekly hours for it - one-off "thanks for the project" donations are appreciated, but recurring sponsorship is what funds the actual roadmap.
