A desktop environment built to let you do your stuff, without getting in the way.

Singularity is independent and built in the open, from the ground up in Vala on GTK4 with a labwc-based Wayland session. Everything is first-party and consistent:

  • libsingularity - a shared toolkit so every app looks and behaves the same
  • Native apps - Files, Edit, Leafs (terminal), Music, Videos, Photos, Git, Monitor, Calendar, Calculator, Store and more
  • vetro - our own declarative UI language that keeps interfaces clean
  • A custom shell, greeter and theming that follows your accent everywhere

Why sponsor

This is a one-person-led, community-driven effort with no company behind it. Sponsorship buys the time to reach a stable release, keep the toolkit and apps maintained, and keep the whole thing free.

  • Day-to-day development across the desktop and its apps
  • Documentation and onboarding so more people can contribute
  • Infrastructure: CI, builds and hosting
