gsoc – Prospective contributor introduction (2026)

Hello SU2 team,

My name is Anas, and I am interested in contributing to SU2 and exploring the possibility of working on a GSoC-style project in the future.

I have a background in software development with experience in Python, C/C++, and working with ML/AI systems. I am currently going through the SU2 documentation and codebase to better understand the solver architecture, workflows, and contribution process.

I would appreciate guidance on:

• Beginner-friendly issues or areas where I can start contributing
• Recommended parts of the codebase for a first contribution
• Any suggestions for preparing for a potential GSoC application

I am motivated to contribute consistently and learn from the community.
