I brought this issue up with Prof. Wendall and he said I can write about this issue for the homework.
I think something that would be very helpful for future iterations of the book is having a clear definition of a bolded vocabulary word in the margin or at the back of the book through a clickable link. Throughout the duration of the class, I found myself looking a bolded vocabulary word and wanting more context about it beyond the sentence it was in, which led me to doing a more in-depth search online.
For example, in section 14.4, the term "quantum mechanics" is mentioned as a bolded vocabulary word, but there is not extra context around it. Making this bolded vocabulary word a clickable link to a dictionary in the back of the book or to an extended definition in the margins would make the reading flow much easier. This is useful so I don't have to leave the textbook to look up unfamiliar terms and disrupt my flow of reading.
