The core functionality of the app will include:
- Interactive Campus Map: An interactive map of the campus will feature ramps, slopes, bus stops, and accessible entryways clearly marked.
- Reporting Feature: Users can report broken doors or inaccessible areas directly through the app.
- Wheelchair Accessible Route Finder: The app will provide route-finding that exclusively uses paths that are wheelchair accessible.
We plan to incorporate emergency contacting as a core feature of the app. This will include:
- Emergency Contact Button: A dedicated button for emergency situations, available both during daylight and nighttime.
- External Resources: Quick access buttons to other transportation services and resources for emergencies.
The app will prioritize accessibility with the following features:
- Resizable Fonts: Users can adjust text size for better readability.
- High-Contrast Themes: High-contrast themes for improved visibility.
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Compatibility with screen readers for users with visual impairments.
- Alternative Text: Inclusion of alternative text for images.
- Voiced Navigation: Voice-assisted navigation for users with visual impairments.
To continuously improve the app and respond to changing circumstances on campus, we will implement the following functions:
- Barrier Reporting: A feature to report broken entrances, blocked ramps, and other barriers such as construction.
- Feedback Reporting: Users can report broken features, outdated information, or suggest new entrances and passages.
