Planned Features

Foundation

The core functionality of the app will include:

  • Interactive Campus Map: An interactive map of the campus will feature ramps, slopes, bus stops, and accessible entryways clearly marked.
  • Reporting Feature: Users can report broken doors or inaccessible areas directly through the app.
  • Wheelchair Accessible Route Finder: The app will provide route-finding that exclusively uses paths that are wheelchair accessible.

Emergency Contact Feature

We plan to incorporate emergency contacting as a core feature of the app. This will include:

  • Emergency Contact Button: A dedicated button for emergency situations, available both during daylight and nighttime.
  • External Resources: Quick access buttons to other transportation services and resources for emergencies.

Accessibility Features

The app will prioritize accessibility with the following features:

  • Resizable Fonts: Users can adjust text size for better readability.
  • High-Contrast Themes: High-contrast themes for improved visibility.
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Compatibility with screen readers for users with visual impairments.
  • Alternative Text: Inclusion of alternative text for images.
  • Voiced Navigation: Voice-assisted navigation for users with visual impairments.

User Reporting

To continuously improve the app and respond to changing circumstances on campus, we will implement the following functions:

  • Barrier Reporting: A feature to report broken entrances, blocked ramps, and other barriers such as construction.
  • Feedback Reporting: Users can report broken features, outdated information, or suggest new entrances and passages.
