A microgame collection being developed independently using Unity. Said microgames are themed around plants doing chores for thier owner who could use the extra help. All development of the game's programming, implementation, design, sprites, animations, and testing are being developed solely by myself.
The current goal with the project is to have 24 microgames, and 3 core game modes:
- Main Campaign:
- The game's brief narrative is told through skippable comic segments before playing the actual game. The player is shown the unmotivated owner content with his status quo, and living in his untidied home. As he leaves to grab a coffee, the plants reveal their sentience and comprise a plan to clean up the place before he gets back.
- There will be 3 levels, each containing 8 microgames.
- Each microgame is simple in nature, featuring a control scheme limited to cardinal-direction-based movement and a single action button.
- Togglable infomatics will play before first playing a microgame; briefly showing the controls.
- Microgames within the level will gradually increase in difficulty as the game goes on, testing the players reaction times and providing a variety of play styles.
- Endless Play:
- An endless gauntlet of all the microgames featured in the campaign, increasing in difficulty further than the campaign. Instead of completing the level, the goal is to get the highest score.
- Will features optional challenges to unlock features in the Mural View mode as you'll see.
- Mural View:
- A large mural depicting the plants of the microgames tidying and interacting with eachother will act as a dynamic set peice featured on the game's main menu and the basis for this mode.
- When first opening the game, all the plants will appear greyed out, but will appear in batches when their associated level in the campaign is beaten.
- Further acheivements like bios, monologues, and recolorings for each character will be unlockable by completing side missions, gnabbing collectables, and reaching highscore limits.
