I approached this project by first dictating a general style and structure I wanted the pages to have. My teammates and I collaborativly designed a header and a footer to be applied to all pages uniformly. We made sure to communicate our ideas and changes over snapchat.
- The main flexbox container wouldn't center elements
- The footer wouldn't align to the bottom
I approached this project with a sort of style first content second mentality. I originally wanted to only work on the style sheet and not make an html file at all, but I was informed by Andrew that each team member had to be responsible for at least one html file so I compromised wiht myself and focused on the style of my html file more than the content. I pushed this project off a little bit to much so most of my changes are from the 18th and the 19th, while my group mates were working on it for more days before that. I also have had a lot of schoolwork on my plate recently so any work I have done has been much later in the evening after I got all my stuff done that was due immediatly. I used chatGPT to try to fix the footer bug, but it failed, and I used it to trye to get some rules I wasn't too familiar with working correctly (like gap).
- The footer bug where it does not stay at the bottom of the screen for web pages that are not long enough
- Nav elements combine and seperate weirdly when zooming in and out, but still work
I started this project with a bare bones style home page, adding small changes like images and more in depth content about the charity and the founder, but was sure not to go too far in depth as to not overstep on the other files :) Other details like the styles and footer was a collaborative effort, but one change I did with the .css file that I did add that I feel added a lot to the page was a margin and rules on how images were formatted for easy reading and keeping things away from the edge of the screen. I used ChatGPT to help me write the about the founder, because I was not familiar with this YouTuber's charity work, only his online presence, and I felt I kept painting him as more as an entertainer and not a philanthropist.
- Images loaded in smack dab in the middle of text, was fixed with .css image rules and styling
