Volume of Solids of Revolution Demonstration
We use Archimedes' Principle to show that the volume of a solid generated by rotating a cross-sectional area about the y-axis is indeed the volume given by the disk method and the shell method introduced in Calculus I classes. This demonstration currently includes a paraboloid.
Research is Fun: In order to prevent the solid from floating in the water, Dr. Caine printed it with the maximum 3D printer infill percentage.
Notes: We wish to include Dr. Caine's 3D printer model and photographs. Perhaps the geogebra with the disk and shell visualization will be included as well.
