Proposal Title: Ultra-simplify for everyone’s sanity.

Request: create a lean team of only developers + 4 representatives to steer development of CFBR3.0 for expediency and abolish convoluted/excessive structure

Rationale
In the attempt to create the absolute most fair decision making process I think we’ve lost sight of quite a few things.

  1. No matter what is done people will be unhappy. People will posture, teams and leaders will leave the game. It happened with Florida, it will happen again.
  2. The development of both 1.0 and 2.0 (which both had a lot more work to be done/decisions to be made to get off the ground compared to where we are now) were done with a very small group of people making decisions based on what they thought was ultimately best for the health and balance for the game. Things like growth, fun, and simplicity were the ruling principles.
  3. Building a bloated government-like system in which every decision must pass through to be made. Is going to be slow, filled with bickering/debate, and most likely will land us with a frankenstein of ideas that will need to be further sorted through to create anything cohesive. The idea that this is going to land us anywhere near an early-summertime game is unlikely. Even with time constraints placed it’s easy to see many people will burn out and ultimately the process will be left to the loudest and those with the most mental stamina to debate through every topic. If this was the requirement pre-2.0 I’d bet my life 2.0 would have never occurred.

Solution: You have primary game developers regardless of school affiliation, and 4 representatives that the game devs can unanimously agree on as the most good faith representatives (as in, represent interest in game health not whats great just for their team). 2 of them would be from large teams (ideally splitting alliance lines) and 2 reps from small teams. In totality the team would be made up of devs + 4 reps to make all of the decisions with respect to 3.0 development. Let them make a plan that is workable, and execute it. If the devs+reps so choose to poll the greater populace/mods/whatever demographic for an opinion on something that is purely their prerogative. In the end we should have a game; most will play, some will not. But we should land on higher-ground with much less mental strain on everybody at every level.
