Here's a refactoring of the C++ logger:

This commit introduces several improvements:

  • Removed BUF_MANAGER: The BUF_MANAGER class and manager.h file were deleted due to critical issues including lack of thread safety, risk of dangling pointers, a flawed destructor, and questionable utility. The Logger class was updated to remove its integration with BUF_MANAGER.

  • Improved Logger Robustness:

    • Added a destructor to the Logger class to ensure exit_logger() is called via RAII, guaranteeing log file closure and resource cleanup.
    • Implemented error handling in the Logger constructor:
      • Throws std::runtime_error if the log file cannot be opened.
    • Added error handling in the Logger::log() method:
      • Throws std::runtime_error if an invalid log level string is provided.
  • Refined main.cpp:

    • Replaced getcwd() with std::filesystem::current_path() for safer and more portable directory path construction.
    • Added try-catch blocks to handle potential std::runtime_error exceptions thrown by the Logger and other unexpected exceptions.
    • Removed the explicit call to logger.exit_logger() as this is now handled by the Logger's destructor.
  • Updated CMakeLists.txt:

    • Removed manager.h from the list of source files for the executable.
