Summary

  • Zinc palette migration: Replace gray neutral palette with zinc across all renderers (constants, popoverStyles, HTML styles, Playwright test fixtures)
  • Docs accuracy sync: Update docs/types.md, docs/styling.md, docs/agents/ to match current exports, types, and module locations
  • Docs-audit tooling: Add deterministic docs-audit-inventory.mjs script and extract shared helpers into scripts/lib/docs-utils.mjs
  • Popover boundary guard fix: Remove vertical clamping that was incorrectly constraining popover positioning
  • API addition: Add endUserId field to AttachmentResponse type
  • Vercel deployment fix: Commit missing vercel.json for the langchain-rag-chat example (was causing 404)

Test plan

  • bun run lint passes
  • bun test passes
  • bun run build succeeds
  • Popover renders correctly without vertical clamping issues
  • Verify Vercel deployment at deepcitation-langchain-rag-chat-example.vercel.app resolves after merge

refactor: simplify popoverStyles and docs-audit script

- Extract DARK_VARS constant to eliminate duplicated dark/auto theme block
- Single-pass file loading in docs-audit (was reading every file 5× across checks)
- Cache module content in getExportsFromModule to avoid re-reads per symbol miss
- Replace existsSync+readFileSync TOCTOU with try/catch in getSourceInterfaces
- Pre-lowercase search terms instead of per-line toLowerCase in inner loop
- Remove dead `lines` variable in Check 6
- Pass docContents map to all check functions

refactor: extract shared docs helpers into scripts/lib/docs-utils.mjs

Move collectDocsFiles, parseYamlFrontmatter, and loadDocsContents into a
shared module. Both docs-audit-inventory and refresh-agent-index now
import from the same source, eliminating duplicated directory walkers
and frontmatter parsers.

fix: remove vertical clamping from popover boundary guard

Vertical clamping caused the popover to detach upward from its trigger,
which is disorienting. The popover should stay anchored and render out
of view — the user can scroll to reveal it.

BOUNDARY GUARD FIX: src/react/hooks/useViewportBoundaryGuard.ts - vertical clamping removed. clamp() now only corrects horizontal overflow. This is correct per docs/agents/react-citation-ui.md: Layer 3 guard is horizontal-only; vertical is owned by useLockedPopoverSide and useExpandedPageSideOffset. Removing the incorrect vertical clamp prevents the popover from detaching from its trigger.

Suggestion: transitionEndsAtRef is written in the post-render useEffect but consumed only in the ResizeObserver useEffect. A brief comment explaining it is updated on each isOpen/popoverViewState change to debounce the ResizeObserver during transitions would help future readers.

ACTIONABLE ITEMS (neither is a blocker):

  1. Add examples/langchain-rag-chat to the DESCRIPTIONS map in scripts/refresh-agent-index.mjs to avoid a no-description warning on next script run.
  2. Log a warning in checkCodeBlockImports when a deepcitation subpath module path fails to resolve rather than silently continuing - prevents false negatives in future doc audits.

The PR is well-scoped and the changes are correct.
