EarthPH is a real-time earthquake monitoring web application that visualizes seismic activity across the Philippines. The application displays earthquake events on an interactive map with automatic updates every 60 seconds, providing citizens with up-to-date information about seismic activity in their region.
- Interactive Map - Visual representation of earthquake locations using Leaflet.js
- 24-Hour View - Displays earthquakes from the past 24 hours
- Precise Location - Geographic coordinates and descriptive location names
- Magnitude Display - Color-coded markers based on earthquake intensity
- Impact Zones - Shows estimated shaking radius when clicking on events
Click any earthquake marker to view:
- Date & Time - When the earthquake occurred (UTC timezone)
- Coordinates - Exact latitude and longitude
- Depth - Distance below the Earth's surface (in kilometers)
- Magnitude - Richter scale measurement
- Location - Human-readable location description from PHIVOLCS
- 24-Hour Retention - Automatically cleans up earthquakes older than 24 hours
- Reliable Data - Information stored in Supabase PostgreSQL database

All earthquake data is provided by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), a service agency of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Data Updates: The application provides access to earthquake events from the past 24 hours. Data can be refreshed manually or via scheduled scraper (not currently automated).
